Welcome!

Welcome!

Welcome!

“The truth is never pure and rarely simple.” — Oscar Wilde

Welcome! Or, if you’ve stumbled across me before, welcome back!

My name is Ken Quattro and I am THE COMICS DETECTIVE of this blog’s title  and simply put: I study, research and write about the history of the comics medium–comic books, comic strips and everything related to them.

I’ve been at this since the late 1960s when I was inspired by the work of such legendary comics historians as Dr. Jerry Bails and Hames Ware. Their seminal work in this field spurred me on to conduct my own research and to share my work with others.

Over the years I have written over 1,000 online posts and magazine articles, contributed to dozens of books and provided source material for numerous other authors, television programs and served as the historical consultant on a Hollywood movie.

What you will find here on my blog are new articles, select updated and expanded past articles and previews of upcoming publications I am working on. I not only will be sharing my research with you, I hope to establish an online repository here that will provide research material for future comics historians.

Take your time and look around. If you have any interest at all in the REAL history of comics, you will hopefully find something of interest.

Thank you for stopping by!

–Ken
